Promote awareness of New Mexicans serving in Iraq and Afghanistan
John M. Garcia, Secretary, New Mexico Department of Veterans Services, is asking New Mexicans to honor the men and women who serve our country and order a Patriot Plate. The Patriot license plate is available to all New Mexico vehicle owners.
In 2006 the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services introduced an official license plate to honor all veterans. The plate especially honors those who have served since the events of September 11th, 2001 and pays tribute to the heroism, selflessness, compassion and courage of our active duty service members and veterans. To date, over 800 New Mexico vehicle owners have ordered the Patriot Plate.

STATE COMMANDER'S GENERAL ORDERS
Section 517 of the Manual of Procedure provides that the Department Commander shall enforce strict compliance with National By-Laws and decide all questions of law and usage in his Department.
General Orders issued by the Department Commander are considered lawful orders from the Commander.
If a post can not or will not comply with this directive, they are in violation of the By-Laws and could be subject to Disciplinary Action.
